About Mr. Sumeet Katariya
Founder of ElevatorPlus and Accucia Softwares
Mr. Sumeet Katariya is the founder of ElevatorPlus, the Elevator Business Operating System used by 200+ elevator companies in 20+ countries, and the founder and CEO of Accucia Softwares, the Pune software company behind it. He is also the author of the first book written on elevator business operations. His work has one aim: take a business held together by WhatsApp groups, spreadsheets and one person's memory, and put a real system underneath it.
From engineer to founder
Mr. Sumeet Katariya has worked in IT since 2013. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from D.Y. Patil College of Engineering, Pune, and began his career with a final-year internship at SunGard Availability Services, where he built and deployed a working private cloud. He then worked as a Java developer at Atos Syntel on enterprise logistics applications for FedEx Ground, learning how large systems are built and maintained under real accountability. In 2015, while still a developer, he co-founded his first company, Knackter Softwares, which delivered 30+ web and mobile projects for clients in India, the US, the UK and Australia in under three years. It taught him to build, sell and deliver software as a business, and it became the foundation for Accucia.
Why industry-specific software
He founded Accucia Softwares in 2018. A few months later he also became COO of Prana Softwares, a US company in Buffalo, New York, building field service software for the HVAC industry. Interviewing HVAC contractors, distributors and facility managers on the ground convinced him that industry-specific software beats generic tools, and that domain knowledge matters more than the feature list. That belief led to ElevatorPlus.
Building AdBanao for India's smallest businesses
In 2020 Mr. Sumeet Katariya started AdBanao, an AI branding app for India's smallest businesses. A shop owner, coaching institute or local service provider can make a professional poster, festival greeting or promo video in minutes, with no designer. Built for Tier 2, Tier 3 and rural India first, in the user's own language, AdBanao now has 50 lakh+ registered users, 11 Indian languages and 100+ business categories.
Launching ElevatorPlus
In 2022 he launched ElevatorPlus, because generic ERP and CRM tools kept failing lift companies in the same way. It brings sales, quotations, service, inventory, installations and AMC into one connected flow, and the ElevatorPlus team handles data onboarding, setup and training so the software is adopted, not just bought. ElevatorPlus does not install, service or sell lifts, so it never competes with its customers. For owners, the result is 10 to 20 hours a week back, AMC and service revenue that stops leaking, installation timelines that hold, and operations that no longer depend on one person.
Writing the first book on elevator operations
Mr. Sumeet Katariya wrote his book because every lift sold is a 20 to 40 year service obligation, not a closed sale, and selling more without structure grows the liability, not the business. ElevatorPlus: How to Run Your Operations Stress-Free and 3X Your Growth (Pendown Press LLP, January 2026) carries a foreword by Mr. Tak Mathews, Chairman, Lifts and Escalators Section, National Building Code of India. He also writes The Stress-Free Elevator Business newsletter on LinkedIn.
Accucia today, and what comes next
Under his leadership, Accucia has delivered 730+ custom projects for 500+ clients across 25+ industries in India, the Gulf, the US and Australia, with a team of 50. Today the company focuses on putting AI agents inside the systems businesses already run, whether that is Tally, Zoho, SAP Business One or an ERP Accucia built, so work moves without a person carrying it between screens. Mr. Sumeet Katariya also created GrowthNiti, which aims to move 1 lakh founders from firefighting to freedom by 2030.
Recognition and industry roles
His work has been recognised with honours including the Maharashtra Ratna Award 2023, Entrepreneurs of the Year 2022, Technology Startup of the Year, a 30 Under 30 award, and a place as the 25th Most Influential Mobile Marketing Leaders. Accucia is a member of EECMAI, the Elevator and Escalator Component Manufacturers Association of India, and Mr. Sumeet Katariya was invited by KEMA to address its Annual General Meeting in Kerala in September 2026.
